A property was purchased in joint name of husband and wife (Senior citizen)before 15 years. The husband died before 5 years and later wife died before 3 years. They have 2 sons who have legal heir certificate for their Mothers name. (Mother --> Legal hier 2 sons)
Now while selling the property the bank is asking for legal heir certificate for Father name also. Is it definitely required to have 2 legal heir certificate, one from Father, one from Mother as both jointly own the property?
A.Dear Sir,
There cannot be two legal heirs certificates but the legal heir certificate must disclose the names of both your father and mother.

A.since mother and father were joint owners, therefore bank is correctly asking for legal heir certificate for mother's share,
