I had taken a personal loan from HDFC Bank Ltd and I have not paid last 2 EMIs and Today I have received a email from their lawyer about a lok Adalat case being filled against me. What can been done? I had not paid the amount as I had lost my job and ready to pay the amount from next month as I have received a new job.

A.You attend the lok adalat and inform them that you are willing to settle the dues and that you need time.

A.Attend Lokadalat n give ur reply accordingly. But whatever u tell them n Order is passed thereafter, plz note it is binding upon you and can be executed legally against you in case if your failure to adhere to it.

A.Dear Sir,
This is not a civil case but its a criminal case u/s 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act. The fine will be 2 times of cheque amount and 2 years imprisonment or both.
So request you to please speak with the respective official and try to negotiate .
