I want to file a civil defamation case. Kindly let me know the procedure to initiate this. How much would be the court fees if I ask for a compensation of 50 Lakhs? What would be other charges and can I claim the same on the people who defamed me?

A.1. The court fee for a defamation case varies from state to state, so it is better to enquire about the same locally or take guidance from a local lawyer. The court fee to be affixed on the suit shall be non-refundable.
