What is the procedure to withdraw divorce petition? Can my spouse object the withdrawal? Can the withdrawal be rejected and divorce petition continued?

A.Dear Sir,
No, it can be withdrawn as per your issue and your spouse as a liberty to file divorce case if he/she wish.

A.You are at liberty to withdraw the divorce petition at any point of time by filing an application before the concerned court. If your spouse is contesting the divorce petition, then he/she may not object. However, if they are demanding divorce on an alternate ground in the same petition, then your withdrawal may be rejected. It is better to check with the concerned court regarding the procedure.

A.1. the petitioner can withdraw the petition mentioning the reason for the withdrawal,
2. opposing party/counsel can object the withdrawal,
3. The Court has powers to reject the withdrawal mentioning the reasons but in rare cases

A.Hi,

Yes, a divorce can be withdrawn with the leave of the Court. You need to move an application for withdrawal to the Judge. Only after the Court is satisfied with the reasons stated by you for withdrawal, you may be permitted to withdraw the petition. Since you have not divulged much facts here, it would be difficult for me to advise you anything specific here.
