Did not pay for items sold Did not pay for items sold

When vacating a rental apt, I sold some household items to the owner/caretaker. He promised to pay later and I left the items in the house based on trust. He had been giving excuses year after year and it's now been 7 years. What are my options to retrieve my amounts?
