Hi, I am a 21-year-old girl. On July 14th, I left my home on my own free will after filing a NC stating the cause of this step was years continued domestic violence and attempt to forceful marriage by my parents. They have also denied giving me my earned money from last 2.5 years. While I moved out with the help of a friend, my parents went on to police and filed missing complaint. The police then started calling me repeatedly to visit the police station and give my statement. Also I had relocated to another city. I rather sent an affidavit, because I feared violence and detention if I visited police station. After receiving the affidavit, my parents managed to pressurize cops with a minister's letter stating to take action in this case. While I moved out with the help of a friend, my parents alleged that my friend and his family have killed and dumped me. These allegations were made to get hold of me. On the basis of these, police repeatedly contacted my friend and his family and landed up at my workplace to take my statement. I have given my statement to police in the police station, in front of my father. The police assured me verbally that they will not contact me henceforth and close the matter. I have explained to them that this causes me serious mental distress, taking a toll on my health and work. I have also mentioned that I am studying and it is affected as well. These allegations have also caused my friend and his family equal amount of stress and defamation since they only helped till I secured a job which was a month back after which I started living independently in a women’s hostel. While giving my statement, the cops have taken down my current details - workplace and the hostel I stay in. I fear this information will be passed on to my family and I will be harassed. I also fear threat to my accommodation and job along with life since I know my parents are extremely aggressive, violent and orthodox. I had requested the cops to not give this information, which they said they won't and to provide me my documents like marksheets, birth certificates, etc, which are necessary and I am legally entitled to have. The cops then told me to visit the police station in my hometown and speak with their senior, i.e., tell him the whole issue and request him for my documents. I doubt if this will safe for me. I requested cops to courier the documents, which they refused. Also, after giving my statement, my father supposedly went back with the team of cops from hometown. However, I saw him in the city, near the police station where I gave my statement a day after also. I need advice on how to go about it in order to get my documents. I wish to continue staying where I am but I fear threat to my safety here because of my family. What legal remedies am I entitled to for my safety and to ensure a hassle-free life here?

There was a 10 acres property whose deed (Dalil) was in the name of Mr Akhil. The property was probably transferred/inherited by him after the demise of his father. Mr Akhil died during 1978. He has one son Mr Nikhil. In 1994, Mr Nikhil recorded his name in CS/LR record. Mr Nikhil has one son Mr Jagan who was born in 1964. Mr Nikhil in 2005 willed the property in someone else name & not his son. Is this legal, can this be done?

I got married six months back. On the night of my wedding my wife revealed to me that she s not intereated in marraige life and was forced by her parents to marry me. I informed to take time to understand and to decide jointly. Its been 6 months, our marriage is unconsummated and my wife left my home wihout prior information stating that she is going for masters in abroad and not interested in mrg life and wontcome back. I have filed a case in police stn. And got F.I.R copy. Wether my marriage be nullified as she married me under the force of her parents? Or wat can i do..

A. What is your complaint and what are the sections FIR has? You may file for nullity but your evidence is not enough for getting a judgement as you like unless your wife admits so.

Hello sir, My father was a victim of murder attack about 3 months ago. The accused was a BJP leader of taluk and our neighbor. He used his car to ran over my father. My father escaped with a slightest hit and fall on the roadside. The roadside is having a drainage and bushes so the accused couldn't drive the car any further. He has drunk. He got down the car and screamed at my father that he would kill him and caught on the collar. The taluk councilor was with my father as they were both pedestrian. On hearing this the locals gathered there. One was an ex-military, he saw the car parked extraordinarily beside the road asked the man. Later they got into the fight. Due to BJP pressure, we couldn't file the case. The mediators told that we can come to a compromise. But after few months he is creating more problems. I want to know whether is it possible to file a case. Is FIR possible? If I proceed further, it is possible for them to stop the investigation. If i move with it, I need a strong basis. Your valuable suggestion is greatly appreciated.

A. This seems to be a political matter. Instead of asking advices here, you better approach the opposite party and they will make a media hype of it and see that FIR is lodged.

We applied for our anticipatory bail on 5th September and received the date of 11th September in the high court. But the judge attendeded double bench hearing and our case was postponed to 14th Sept. The same chain of events happened on 14th, 17th and again today on 19th. We've now received the date of 24th September but chances still remain bleak. A hearing can be postponed how many times esp for Anticipatory bail. Any quicker alternatives?
