is there any stamp duty on Debenture

A. Hi
Every issuance of debentures is subject to an ad valorem stamp duty of 0.005% (as against the existing duty of 0.05% per year of the face value subject to a cap of 0.25% of Rs. 25 lakhs, whichever is lower).
Hope this information is useful.
