As your father was the guarantor of his friend's loan, after his death the liability of a guarantor shifts on your shoulders as you are the legal heir of your father. Here the principal debtor who is your deceased father's friend has failed to pay the payments for 4 years so you can be held liable by the bank for the loan.

What they are doing is absolutely illegal and they cannot do this. You send them a legal notice through a lawyer ( We can do that for you) and after that if they don't listen then you should file a writ petition in High Court.
