Sending a legal notice is not barred by any law but then you have to figure out that what they have asked you to do in the legal notice whether that is legal or not. As far as bond is concerned there are fragmented opinion on this, meaning some consider this as legal and some as illegal so, it has to be seen from case to case basis.
