A. All others are advising you to file Domestic Violence complaint with police against your father in Law - make him face police and bring women power into your house. The net result of these, if you follow their advice is that your husband will be left with whatever in his name only and your father in law will not give him all other properties. A. If you are asking about the Law, you can file 498A against your husband any number of times, So also you can compromise with him any number of times. There is no limitation or ceiling in law for these two.

A. You have no advantage due to your wife not filing DV against you, as first of all it is her option, and secondly 498A contains some similar ingredients. Your only solace is in DV she could have asked for compensation.
