The Karnataka High Court gave a single mother relief by ordering the Passport authorities to assess her minor son's passport application without the agreement of her estranged spouse. A provision in the Passport Manual ordering the single parent to acquire authorization from, according to a single-judge bench led by Justice M Nagaprasanna. Since the office can not compel you to join during maternity leave, If you join the office at your own before the completion of your maternity leave period, your maternity leaves and other benefits automatically get cancelled.
