If you returned the car on time and did not sign any agreement that states you are responsible for any damages, then the rental company does not have the legal right to hold you responsible for the damage.If the rental company continues to threaten you or withhold your money, you may want to consider contacting a lawyer or filing a complaint with a consumer protection agency or the police.

In case you are caught driving without licence, you can be fined for Rs 5,000. This is a ten-fold increase from the earlier fine of Rs 500.

As per Motor Vehicle Act of India A car with White number plate which is registered privately cannot be given for rent. It is not safe to subscribe the Car.
