1. The IT Act, 2000

  • You have to issue an invoice on a compulsory basis if you are using someone's digital identity on valid grounds. Moreover, you must specify the data protection measures you are using to further safeguard the person's digital identity after uploading it to any platform.
  • The bill plans to reduce the regulatory burden on individuals and allow them to live their digital life seamlessly.
  • It also aims to create a conducive environment that fosters the steady growth of India's digital economy. 
  • India is quick to adopt multiple case laws related to setting standards for data encryption, mandating SSL-secured platforms for E-Commerce transactions, and restricting AI fraud.

3. More relevant legislations related to Data Privacy

One of the prime growth postulates of India's digital regulatory framework is the Aadhaar Act. It is meticulously governing the use of digital identification numbers in India. This unique identification number is a serious cornerstone of individual digital identity.
