A.Section 7 of the POCSO Act defines the ambit of sexual abuse against children. It states that “Whoever, with sexual intent, touches the vagina, penis, anus or breast of the child or makes the child touch the vagina, penis, anus or breast of such person or any other person, or does any other act with sexual intent which involves physical contact without penetration is said to commit sexual assault.”

A.According to a bench headed by Supreme Court Justice UU Lalit, touching a sexual part of the body or any other act involving physical contact, if done with sexual intent, would amount to sexual assault within the meaning of section 7. Under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
