You can file a civil suit for money recovery. A complaint for cheating and fraud under Sections 415 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code can be registered with the local police station. In addition, you can file a cheque bouncing case under Sections 125,126 and 127 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Draft a letter to the bank about your problems. Talk to a lawyer if the bank continues to send you notices without extension in time.

A. You can immediately lodge complaint and try to get postdated cheque at least in the police station because filing suit and recovering the amount is very difficult
