Gave money to someone without agreement
Had given money to a person last year Spet 2019. Those were my savings back then which amounts to roughly 25-26k. Now, it has been around 10 months the other person isn't returning the money. He does deny taking the money and even promised to give it back but has been delaying from time to time. I have WhatsApp chats and call recordings as proof, can I lodge a place complaint against him with the police and can I take legal steps against him?
A.You can immediately lodge complaint and try to get postdated cheque at least in the police station because filing suit and recovering the amount is very difficult

A.Hi though it does not qualify for criminal action so easily being civil dispute still you may visit local ps and approach them to call the person and arrange joint discussion for mutual solution to avoid future aggravating offense due to this.
Also as your dues is not so high to save litigation cost you may send him legal notice and put your case before lokadalat camp .

A.You can not complain to police regarding this as you willingly gave the money and he did not cheat you. You can take civil action against him like sending legal notice or filing a case.
