President of RWA for life

Can the developer who heads the development company, and also resides in the community, be the President of the Resident Welfare Association, for life.
Is it not conflict of interest and abuse of power.

A.The governing body of an RWA is elected and the rules are to be maintained as per the majority. So, if the majority has agreed for that then it should be fine, if not then ask him to come down or get elected every year.

A.He can not be president of the association without following the process of elections. If such by-laws are present, request to take steps to remove such clauses.
