My project leader trying to retrench me at this cororna time

Sir,
I am working in one central govt research organization. They hired me for one project for 2years and there is also renewal for the job position. My question is today I got a call (phone call) from my project leader saying that " you are going to be retrench due to no extension of the project and there are no funds ". Here my question is I was only one who got a call out of 5 members working under him. If it is lack of funds he has to retrench all members in the project. This is not first time he tried to remove me from the project, at initial time of the project he even asked me to resign , but I did not listen to him. Because I know how much the job is important for me ,how much effort I had been kept to crack the job and there are no remarks on me on this two years tenure. So no reason is left to him to remove me from this job. Then he started humiliating me number of times stressed me mentally . Now at this corona time can I get any job security from the govt as at this pandemic situation getting a new job is very difficult .Now without any prior info he declared me to look after a new job . What should I do now?
