Rent before issuing a rental agreement

Hi,
Thought a company I had rented a flat and did not receive my rental agreement until 3 months later despite numerous emails and follow ups. Rent was held until the agreement was issued. Is the company allowed to collect rent for the months before the agreement was made?
If yes, can a bulk amount be demanded by the company without allowing any time for payment, as it was their fault for issuing late rental agreement.

A.dear client You question is full of ambiguity and needs a lot of clarification. prmia facie because rent is that which can be legally collected after the rent agreement comes in to picture, as because the agreement gives the power to collect the rent.

You can claim your rent from the date of handing over possession in the form of damages/compensation and not in the form of rent. They were in possession of property as you have given implied permission.

A.Dear you need to write the facts properly. At one hand you say Company held the rent and on other hand you can the Company collect rent. Please be specific who is the tenant here and who is the landlord/owner.
