I am a central govt contractor. my labour was more then 20 in 2021-22 , my workers ask me to pay bonus. what will i do. it is applicable on me or not. some of them left the job in august 2022.

A.According to the concerned act, if you have 20 or more workers working under you then you are definitely liable to pay them the bonus at a minimum rate of 8.33 % of their wages since they are working under you as your employees.

A.Dear client,
The Act Applies to all Factories and every other establishment, which employs twenty or more workmen. The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 provides for a minimum bonus of 8.33 percent of wages. It is the statutory responsibility of the contractor to pay such bonus to contract employees, as they are the employers for such contract employees.
Even though the laborers left, if you still have 20 or more workers, then you have to pay them a bonus.
