A.You need to write a letter of complaint to the officer in charge and commissioner of police (local jurisdiction) stating all the facts regarding the inhuman torture and harassment you have faced till date by your mother in law and other family members of your husband. Then you must approach the local police station and the office of the police commissioner for submitting the letter of complaint. If the police authority refuses to accept your complaint letter for lodging an FIR against your mother in law and other accused members then kindly seek the help of an advocate who will guide you properly for getting an order from the court of the magistrate for starting an investigation by lodging an FIR against your letter of complaint under the provision of Section 156 (3) CrPC. For further query or legal assistance you may ask your doubts.
