Paytm account blocked on a report of Kerala police Paytm account blocked on a report of Kerala police

I am a freelance writer I was sent a message on Watsapp that if I wrote reviews for restaurants I would be paid for each review. For the payment they asked for my bank account or a UPI number. I was given Rs. 150 for the review and since I did not have a Paytm account I got the payment done on my son’s account. Then after sometime I was sent a message that I had to make payment for 2000 Rs. which they will double and give. I realised it was a fraud so I did not reply to the message. Now Paytm has blocked my son’s account saying his account did a fraud of 150 and reported by Kerala police, so it is blocked. How do I proceed and help my son?

A.hi client,

It is important to be cautious when receiving unsolicited messages offering payment for services, especially when it involves sharing sensitive information such as bank account or UPI details. Always be sure to verify the authenticity of the message and the person making the request before providing any personal or financial information.
If your son's Paytm account has been blocked due to an alleged fraud, the first step would be to contact Paytm's customer service to understand the reason for the block and to try to resolve the issue.
You should also inform Paytm's customer service that you suspect that you were the victim of a scam or fraud and that you did not knowingly engage in any fraudulent activity. You can provide them with details of the message you received and the payment you received for writing restaurant reviews.
It is also advisable to file a complaint with the police as soon as possible. You can provide them with details of the message you received and any other relevant information that may help them in their investigation.
