Deniel of Variable pay Deniel of Variable pay

Hi ,
I worked in an organization for 1.5 yrs and got relieved in good terms.
We had variable pay for period Apr'22 to Mar'23.
I left the organization on 23 May (last working day) and served notice period. I requested for 1 day early release in notice period and received all required approval for 1 day early release.
I was informed by HRBP that variable pay is given to employee who is active on the day of variable component payout. However I did not receive this information by any means from the employer earlier (not via, email, teams, appraisal letter or offer letter).
The policy document was there on company portal, but there are hundreds of documents on the same portal, is it my duty to read all the documents?
Company denied paying me the Variable Pay, which was paid out to all employees with may salary (26 May).

A.Dear client
You are entitled to proportionate variable pay up to last day of active service in the Company which is a standing component of salary. Denial of payment of said component to employee is arbitrary and unjustified on the part of employer.
You may approach to the concerned office of Labour Commissioner for redressal of your grievance.
