Hi, we procure lime stone for manufacturing of Soda ash, after the process some waste material be there mostly lime stone is there (not in its original form), when we procure lime stone from mines we pay the royalty. My question if we use the waste for land fill, reclamation,etc. Are we need to pay royalty again?

A.Dear client,
Yes, it is applicable. Section 9 of the MMDR Act 1957 provides that the holder of mining lease shall pay royalty to the government in respect of the minerals removed or consumed from the leased area.
