A.Dear client,

Communicate with the Lawyer: Have an open and honest conversation with the lawyer about your decision to withdraw the case. Explain your reasons for doing so and try to negotiate a fair and reasonable fee for their services rendered up to this point.

Review the Fee Agreement: Check the fee agreement you signed with the lawyer at the beginning of the case. Look for any provisions related to terminating the representation or withdrawing the case. Understand the terms and conditions for fees and expenses.

Seek a New Lawyer: If you believe that the current lawyer is not being cooperative or is demanding unreasonable fees, you have the option to seek a new lawyer to represent you. Consult with other lawyers to find one who is willing to take over the case and assist with the withdrawal process.

File a Withdrawal Petition: Work with the new lawyer to file a withdrawal petition with the court. This petition will formally request the court's permission to dismiss or withdraw the divorce case. The court will need to approve the withdrawal.

Communicate with the Court: Keep the court informed of your decision to withdraw the case. Provide the necessary documentation and follow the court's procedures for withdrawal.

Resolve Any Outstanding Payments: If there are any outstanding payments owed to the current lawyer, try to settle the matter amicably. Negotiate a fair fee based on the work completed thus far and pay any agreed-upon amount.

Mediation: If the withdrawal process becomes contentious, consider seeking the help of a mediator to facilitate communication and reach a resolution.
