Rent broker threatening eviction Rent broker threatening eviction

I live on rent and there are few cats in the society who i feed regularly. After feeding i even pick up the plates used and dont leave any garbage behind. The society currently does not have a committee and is under the control of an administrator. Few residents of the society have spoken to the broker who got me my rental flat and now the broker is threatening that he will get me evicted if i dont stop feeding the cats that live in the building. What laws apply here and what can i do about it.

A.Hi client,

Some people in the society d o not understand the fact that all the creatures have equal right over this planet. Well you are doing a great job.
There are several laws which provides protection to the wild animals in India. Still people often forget such laws and create issues.
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960 is one of the most common law protecting the animals. You can take the following steps-
1. Contact the group of animal lovers/ association from your local area.
2. Report it to the police station near you.
3.Inform the municipality/ councilor/any authority of the similar body to help and give you permission of the same.
4. Take videos and photos when somebody disturbs you while you feed them.
5. Use social media and spread the information of such disturbances.

Thanks and Regards

A.Dear client,

Pet Ownership Policies: The first thing to check is the pet ownership policies or rules in your rental agreement or the society's bylaws. Some rental agreements or society rules may have specific provisions regarding pet ownership and feeding animals within the premises.

Animal Welfare Laws: Different countries and regions have varying laws related to animal welfare. Some places may have laws protecting the rights of animals and promoting their well-being. It's essential to be aware of these laws and how they might apply to your situation.

Communication with the Administrator: If the society does not have a committee and is currently under the control of an administrator, you can try to have a respectful and constructive conversation with the administrator about your actions. Explain that you pick up the plates and leave no garbage behind, and discuss the importance of caring for community animals.

Mediation and Conflict Resolution: If the situation escalates and the threats continue, you can consider seeking mediation or conflict resolution services to find a compromise that satisfies both parties. Mediation can be helpful in resolving disputes without resorting to legal action.

Legal Advice: If the broker's threats persist, it may be necessary to seek legal advice from a lawyer who specializes in rental and tenancy laws. They can guide you on your rights and the appropriate steps to take in your specific situation.

Community Support: Engage with other residents who might share your concern for the welfare of the cats. A united voice from multiple residents can have a stronger impact on decisions within the society.

Laws and regulations can vary significantly depending on your location, so it's crucial to consult with a legal professional familiar with the laws in your area. Additionally, try to maintain open communication with all parties involved and seek an amicable resolution whenever possible. Caring for community animals is commendable, and finding a compromise that benefits both the animals and the residents is ideal.
