Mumbai Parking charges Mumbai Parking charges

Hi , I have a specific question related to parking charges that can charged by society for multiple 2 wheeler. To start with , our society has no dedicated parking slots for members -- It is first come first serve basis
For open area parking , can society charge parking fees 1x 2X, 3X depending on number of 2 wheelers? There is ample space available for 2 wheelers, can society charge in multiples? Why not charge the same amount for all the 3 two wheeler ? Is there any law to counter this? This is all done to offset the loss they are incurring

A.Dear Client,
The legality of charging different parking fees based on the number of two-wheelers in a society often depends on local laws and the rules and bylaws of the specific housing society. Check the society's bylaws and rules regarding parking charges. Societies typically have their own set of rules that members are expected to adhere to. Familiarize yourself with local municipal or housing society regulations regarding parking fees. There might be guidelines or restrictions in place. If you have concerns about the fairness of the parking charges, consider discussing the matter with the society's managing committee. Seek clarification on the rationale behind the multiple charges and propose a more equitable system if needed. If you believe the charges are unfair and the society is not willing to address the issue, you may want to consult with a legal professional. They can provide advice based on specific local laws and regulations.

A.Dear Client,
A society is run following its own Bylaws. Any charges for any service are being levied by the Society based on the resolution passed by the 2/3rd majority of the voting in a duly convened meeting of the Governing Body. If the problem with regard to parking or two-wheelers is faced by most of the residents of society, then you can make a mass petition before the Society to resolve the issue failing which the matter may be brought to the notice of the Registrar or Dy. Registrar of the Society for a resolution in the matter.
