A.Dear Client,

Upon receiving an application related to matters specified in clause (ii) of sub-section (5) of section 19 of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987, a Lok Adalat may be referred to for determination. Following this, a notice is issued under Sub-Sec. 2 of Section 20, advising both parties to appear before the Lok Adalat organized by the Legal Services Authority. In Lok Adalat, the focus is on encouraging parties to reach a settlement.

If you receive a notice and are willing to repay the dues as proposed, respond through your lawyer and offer to settle by paying the amount demanded by the Bank. Your appearance is crucial for the issuance of an award or settlement. Awards made by a Lok Adalat are final and binding on all parties involved, and no appeal is allowed against these awards. Lok Adalats are designed for the speedy resolution of pending cases, serving as an alternative dispute resolution system.

If you acknowledge the dues as genuine, consider settling the dispute by making the payment promptly. Obtain a certificate from Lok Adalat after settling the dues to conclude the dispute. If you're facing difficulties in repaying credit card dues, seeking counseling from a certified credit counselor can provide insights into options and help you choose the best path to resolve the crisis.

A.Dear Client,
On receipt of an application from any one of the parties to any matter referred to in clause (ii) of sub-section (5) of section 19 of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987 that such matter needs to be determined by a Lok Adalat, refer such matter to the Lok Adalat, for determination. Accordingly, a Notice under Sub-Sec. 2 of Section 20 of the Act is issued to both parties advising them to appear before the Lok Adalat organized by the Legal Services Authority under sub-section (1) of Section 19 of the Act. In Lok Adalat, the emphasis is placed on persuading the parties to arrive at a settlement. On receipt of the notice, if you are willing to repay the dues/debt as proposed in the notice, then file your reply to the notice through your lawyer and then offer to settle the dues by paying the amount as demanded by the Bank for settlement. So your appearance is a must for passing an award or settlement in the matter. Every award made by a Lok Adalat shall be final and binding on all the parties to the dispute, and no appeal shall lie to any court against the award passed by a Lok Adalat which is constituted for the speedy disposal of pending cases and is an alternate dispute redressal system of a judicial body or quasi-judicial body. If you accept the dues as genuine, then pay it now to settle the dispute forever. Obtain the certificate from Lok Adalat once you paid your dues to settle the dispute. If you are unable to pay your credit card dues, a quick counseling session with a certified credit counselor can help you discover your options and choose the right path forward to resolve the crisis. Consult with your Lawyer for guidance and steps.
