Bank refuses to email me copies of cheques and documents for verifying forged signatures, and they insist I visit in person, despite my absence in town? Can they deny sharing documents via email when fraud is done for Lakhs of amount?

Are there any legal laws which enforce bank to show the scanned copies of cheques & letters on email, when there is signature fraud.

A.Dear Client,

Banks have the right to request the presence of an account holder for document verification, especially if there is suspicion of forgery. This is done to ensure the authenticity of the document and to take necessary actions in accordance with the bank's rules and regulations.

In situations where the account holder is out of station, it is advisable to inform the bank and coordinate to fix a date for the account holder's visit to the bank for document verification. A scanned copy of forged documents, particularly in cases involving the suspected forgery of a signature on a cheque, may not suffice for the purpose of verification.

It is crucial for the account holder to adhere to the instructions provided by the bank in order to protect and secure their interests. Non-cooperation may lead to complications and potential legal consequences. By cooperating with the bank's verification process, account holders can help resolve any concerns regarding document authenticity and maintain a smooth relationship with the financial institution.

A.Dear Client,
A Bank can ask an account holder for his presence to verify a document suspected to be forged to ensure the commission of forgery to take onward actions as per the rules and regulations of the Bank. In case, the account holder is out of station, he or she can inform the Bank fixing a date of visit to the Bank for the purpose. A scanned copy of forged documents cannot meet the purpose, especially in case of suspected forgery of the signature of an account holder in a cheque. In the prevailing situation, you need to abide by the instructions of the Bank to protect and secure your interest, otherwise, your non-cooperation may lead you to face a lot of complexity and legal consequences.
