Joint venture development for flats Joint venture development for flats

I had entered a JV development agreement with a Chennai builder for devlopment of flats in my land in Chennai. The builder delayed the project considerably and while taking possession of my building, had given me a letter stating a compensation amount which would be only given to me as space in any of the builder's new project but would not be paid as cash. I was supposed to avail this as a discount in builder's new project. A particular project had also been identified, so that the compensation claim could be adjusted. Now, I do not wish to buy any further property from this builder because of past bitter experience and also because I am cash starved. Is there any way to recover the compensation amount? I am willing to part with a substantial portion of the compensation amount in lieu of legal fees
