Regarding Accepting Internship Offer Letter and Then Rejecting it

I currently received an internship offer letter from a company(off campus) on which i have to sign and send them the copy. Now, I am also searching for internships through my college placement cell and if i get selected in some company through my college i am bound to accept that offer. So, I want to ask whether should I accept the internship offer as a backup or not?
