Resignation acceptance

Hi I have resigned from the company on 03rd sept 2020 and ask for a short notice till 15th sept 2020 only from them. I have handed over all my responsibilities to my colleague met with my Managing director personally on 17th said them that I am not able to come now furthur more. I joined a new company on 21st September 2020 and my relieving letter ia on hold as I have not received it from my previous employer . Now suddenly my previous employer claimed for non acceptance of my handover and said that u are not releived and you cannot joined anywhere like this.
Kindly suggest on this
It is advisable that you talk with your previous employer.

Let them say anything continuing your service with new employer and be good books with new employer and previous employer cannot take any action against you.
