promissory note issue - 4 years over

i have gave 50000 thousadn to my friend with promissory note .. 4 years back. he says i can't pay interset and will pay only note amount only . what can i'll do to get amount ? is their any way to get full amount with interest . If i'll go to court i'm get full amount(2rs interest) . I'll be facing any issue due to this . Please tell me needfully . otherwise better to take principle amount beacuse promissory note crossed 3 years ?
