I had a credit card of kotak mahindra bank in 2015..I purchased a 13000 worth mobile from that credit card in 2015 itself..I have already paid 15000 for that mobile..after that I lost the credit card also..now in 2020 I got a call from 30 hazari court delhi..that your payment is due of 22000.and given the phone no. Of an advocate..when I called the advocate he said the payment is due..try to close it today itself..otherwise they will go for legal notice and then you have to pay 55000..I don't have any documents related to kotak mahindra bangalore with me now..what should I do

A.Hi,
Firstly, try to gather some relevant documents if you have any in your email or any bank statements that you had received. Or you can directly contact the bank and the branch from where you had opened the account and ask them if they can provide you with any important document that can be beneficial to you. If you fail to manage the above, you can pay the amount advised by the advocate and take a receipt of your payment, and file a case in the Consumer Redressal Forum against the bank.

A.Never respond to such notices and emails.
Those people are just recovery agents of finance company. They never file a case as they also don't have proper records. They just want to fritegned you to extract some amount which is not possible to recover through legal process. If you got a call, then tell them that you have nothing to do with thr matter and that they have called a wrong number.
