My husband had premarital affair with a girl but at time of marriage he hided few important things regarding this from me and my parents...now after 6yrs of marriage, they both r again having affair but no physical relations... Now he is pretending that he left everything but i knw he is lying... That girl is still unmarried.... Is there any legal punishment for both except divorce.... We hv one daughter of 5 yrs too... Plz reply

A.Get this clear, there is presently no punishment for that girl in Law. And you cannot get punishment for your husband either from the circumstances narrated by you.

A.In a strict sense when a man commits adultery with another married woman then he can be punished for this. Now since the girl is not married so your husband will not be punished under Section 497 if Indian Penal Code. Now one can think about civic sense of punishment wherein when the society knows about this kind of act then the society amends it behaviour towards that person who is committing adultery. So, sorry to say that there is no direct law to punish your husband except that he can be rebuked by his known people.
