how to pay loan after death

my father passed waway 12 days ago he had a loan on SBI worth 8 lakh .
I want to preclose the loan account as son(it was NOT a joint account) what is the quickest process ?
A.What kind of loan was there for 8 lakhs.. as you are NOT the joint holder for the loan so u r NOT liable to pay the loan . But if it is Home loan or Mortgage loan then u will hav eto pay the loan (But generally these Home loan or Mortgage loan are also INSURED & SO THE DEPENDENTS DON;T HAV ETO PAY AGAIN TO THE BANK ANYTHING. So see what kind of loan is pending.

A.Hi,
The SBI authorities can assist you with this. You will not be liable to pay your father's loan, it will be recovered from whatever securities he had posted as surety.
