I'm recently married , working woman 28 years old. I have issues with mother from my childhood and I got married against wish of my mother.My mother is so cruel from my childhood and she didn't looked me properly. My father always supports my mother .I grown up and got educated from loan and I was in love with a guy . We got married three months before. It was a church wedding with his families and relatives presence. Now I'm living in peace. But my mother asking me money for looking after me even though she didn't all this year's. Now she wants money . I have given her all of my money till my marriage . She always wants money only. Now I don't wish to give her money. She is going to complaint against me in police station for giving money eventhough, My father is earning . What can I do now ?

A.if your father is earning enough then there is no need to pay money.

A.hey,
daughter's married or not she is entitled to give maintenance to their parents. However, before passing the order to the married daughter, she can give maintenance only when her husband is financially stable and independent

She is not entitled for such amount and it is unknown to law. Police have no jurisdiction.

A.I wouldn't suggest to disconnect from your mother completely though that would be viable choice, A case in police station in regards to you not providing her money for maintenance ? Please do not worry it is not a crime as such where police will arrest you, if such a scenario does occur that you are called to the police station based on a complaint from your mother, Kindly do visit the station and explain the scenario to the police, who are more than friendly enough to resolve the issue or refer it to any Family Nyaya Panchayat to help you resolve the issue, for any further assistance or queries please do seek my assistance.
