My husband bought our flat prior to getting married. Flat is in his name and his mother as second owner. What are my options to ensure my wife's name is added or she is the beneficiary of this flat?

A.Being wife you does not have any right over the flat during the life time of your husband except right to residence. After demise of husband you and other legal heir should have claim in respect of portion (which is half portion) of you husband only.

A.My husband and my wife ?
so are you "other" as your spouse is both husband and wife.

Husband and his mother are only owners.
wife have no share in it.
If husband dies without WILL then wife will get 25% share in flat.
If husband wants then he can give his share to wife by Gift deed or make WILL (WILL can be changed anytime).

A.Dear client,
Your husband and his mother having equal rights on the flat. Both of them can execute a registerd gift deed in your favour. If they did not execute gift deed you cannot get rights on that flat. After the demise of your husband only you can get rights over the property.
