Grant of Family pension Grant of Family pension

This is with regards to the grant of family pension.
The issue is:
My father passed away in 2019,he was a retired rajasthan govt employee. His account was with SBI.
There was an outstanding pensioner loan of 1,20,000 on the account for which emi's were getting deducted on time from the pension only.
The bank is not granting the family pension to my mother before clearing the loan. The amount which my mother will receive will be more than the outstanding amount so the bank can recover it easily.
Even when i told them to clear the loan amount ,they are saying it will take 6 months to start family pension.
What to do in this case?

A.Hi,
If you are a central government pensioner who has been facing issues related to your pension, then you can lodge your complaint on the pensioner's portal. As per guidelines by the Government, pension paying banks should compensate the pensioner for the delay in crediting pension arrears thereof at a fixed interest rate of 8 percent per annum for the delay after the due date of payment and the compensation shall be credited to the pensioner's account automatically without any claim from the pensioner on the same day when the bank affords credit for pension arrears. You can send a legal notice to the bank demanding payment of pension since as per SC judgment in SK Mastan Bee v The General Manager, pension should be provided as soon as it is due.

A.Hi,
If you are a central government pensioner who is having problems with your pension, you can use the pensioners portal to file a complaint. The bank will have to pay you interest if there is a delay, and according to SC rulings, pensions must be processed as soon as they are due because they are part of a welfare scheme., so you can even send a legal notice to the bank.
