EMPLOYMENT - JOB RESIGNATION
Hello Team,
I have given resignation from my organization & I am serving the notice period. I was given some assignments for completion before leaving. Most of the assignments allotted to me were completed. However, few assignments are pending & my notice period is about to end. Can my employer hold me back, just because of this reason??
A.Dear Sir,
No, the notice period is different from work to be done.

A.Hi,
You only need to stay with the company until the end of the notice period and not further. Your pending assignments can be allotted to someone else after you have left.
If you found my answer helpful then kindly rate me.

A.Hi,
If you served your notice period as per required law and employment agreement then you don't have to work after your notice period end and nothing of this sought is stated in your employment aggrement about completion of work.
Your employer cannot make you work.
If you find it useful please rate my answer. Thank you.

A.Hey,
If there is nothing specific mention in your employment agreement about notice period which may make you oblige to complete all pending work even after the end of notice period then you don't have to work after your notice period ends and your employment with firm stands terminated.
Please rate my answer, Thank you.

A.Hello,
No, the employer can't hold you after serving the notice period. Its better you make a handing over schedule for pending assignment and inform to your employer accordingly. If you employer still requested you to complete the assignment then its your choice to complete the pending assignment or not, also you can ask him for extra charges for the same.
