Is General power of Attorney will valid for registration and transfer of agricultural land?
If invalid, From which year onwards is it not applicable?

A.Dear Sir,
It is valid if it is in favour of blood relative and Sub-Registrar agrees unregistered GPA.

A.As per the order of the Supreme Court a Power of attorney if to used for immovable property pertaining transactions such as sale or purchase than it has to be registered with the office of Sub-Registrar of the concerned jurisdictional area. So a property cannot be transacted in the office of Sub-Registrar if Power of Attorney is not registered in that respect. However please note that it is hard to ascertain the applicability of the same is from which year because till few years ago many properties used to be transacted without registered Power of attorney and if such matters come under legal dispute than the decision will be made based on merits of the case. Thank you.
