Legal advice on Building contractor
Need legal advice.
We've been building our house by hiring a contractor in Chennai. Due to labours competency we had to terminate the contract. The building is now 60% complete.
Now the issue is with contractor's closure billing.
As per his bill, he's charging us for 'Claim Due to project termination' as 6 Lakhs and 'Material Price Esclation' which we didn't agree during our termination discussion nor it's been mentioned in the signed agreement.
Please let me know to tackle this.
A.Dear Sir,
You may offer what is reasonable and if he does not agree then ask him to go to the Court where he has to suffer a lot.
I could have explained more if background is known to me.
Please give me FIVE STAR if satisfied by my answers.
It is required to examine the contract papers signed by and between parties, as well as the document in which you terminated the contract and specified the grounds for termination, as well as the contractor's response in this respect. Please consult a lawyer for the same.
Thank you!
