Land title transfer

I paid certain instalments for the property back in 1997 .. there was a scheme that I will have to pay 950 rs every month for a period of 30 months ..I paid all the instalments then the scheme organising company asked us to get it transferred I was in gulf and I couldn't do it . .. now after all this year's can I get it registration on my name . Is there any time limit to get it transferred ? Please help
