My husband beat me up when I was pregnant. I was afraid so i came back to my parents place. He never came to see my son or me. I want to live with him due to my son. He has filed desertion case. I went for mediation. My husband is a doctor n earns really good. During Mediation he is saying he will pay Rs 2000 per month for son's maintenance. What to do? How to approach make him pay a reasonable amount? I have a case of 498A n 315 on him. What do U suggest I do? How to establish his income?

You may file a case for domestic violence against your husband and then ask for maintenance.

To get the proper maintenance from him what you need is to file a maintenance case under Section 125 of CrPC and seek the rightful amount for yourself and your child. It is your husband who has to convince the court that he even being a doctor is earning less.
