I applied for a loan against property in ICICI bank for the amount of 10 Lac rupees. ICICI bank rejected my loan citing the reason that I have multiple loans running as per CIBIL record however I did not have a single loan running. When I enquired further, I found that my PAN card was being used in another CIBIL account which had multiple loans running and that was the reason for loan rejection. CIBIL too admitted this mismatch and working on it.
I faced a lots of financial challenges after my loan rejection and lost my ICICI loan processing fee too. I have been following up for a month now and still issue is unresolved.
Pls guide me on what action can I take against CIBIL and make them pay for ICICI loan processing fee and harassment?
File a case against CIBIL in the consumer forum. This is because CIBIL is a private body and so you cannot file a direct writ against them.
However, you can prove negligence in services and cumbersome procedure which has badly affected your credit rating.
Alternatively, you can also complaint against CIBIL before the RBI, which governs CIBIL and thus, can take action against them. If the RBI does not respond to your request or complaint, then you can take the RBI by the means of a Civil Writ Petition asking the court to direct the RBI to address your concern.
