Short Fall of Notice Period Short Fall of Notice Period

I have been working with a Ltd. company for 9+ years. I have resigned on 22nd July 2022 and requested them for early relieving on 02nd Sept. 2022 by serving 40 days of notice period. The same has been approved by my reporting manager. But as per policy it should be approved by higher authority. Higher authority has denied the early relieving request and not agreeing on buy-out option.
And asking me to serve 90 days notice period upto 22-10-22. What are my legal way out to overcome this.
