Leaving internship without serving notice period
1 year ago
In the offer letter we had 60 days notice period but there is nothing mentioned that we have to compensate if we are leaving in between .Now when i had to quit in case of emergency they are saying that i can take sabbatical leave (which i dont want to take)and rejoin after 3 month or else i have to compensate 1 lakh which is not mentioned anywhere in offer letter. They are saying that if i fail to do they will take legal action and blacklist future employment. In the letter it is clearly mentioned that either me or company can terminate the internship in any case.
A.Dear Client, are you sure that the terms of the internship offer letter asks you to pay 1 lakh rupees in case you leave the internship? However, this is a private contract between you and the organisation, so kindly thoroughly go through the policies and contact a good lawyer and take appropriate steps. Hope this helps!
