Reliving letter not given by employeer

With current company I am not sign any agreement or any appointment letter or offer letter, with mutual understanding I joined. Now I resigned with mail and as per curtesy i gave 5 weeks of notice for find some one other for my job. After 15 days of resign director mailed for total 70 days total notice period needed. New employers need reliving letter so what should I do?
A.Dear client, I am sorry to hear that but in this case you can negotiate with your employer regarding the same. Since you haven't signed any contract there might arise issue.
