Defamation by branch manager

I went to the bank for taking the status of a request raised by my mother and follow up being taken since last 6 months. The manager did not take any responsibility of the acts of his staff, rather he shouted on me, and insulted me in front of 4 people sitting in his cabin. Can I take any action against him?
