Apartment advance maintenance period - accounts book
6 years ago
Hi, At the time of possession, we had to pay the builder an advance maintenance charges. Can we ask the builder to show the accounts book on how the money is being used during this one year period? Can the builder choose to refuse this request? Is there any section of law which binds the builder to show the accounts book to the owners?

A.dear client in your case The advance amount that is given to the builder at the time of possession is for safeguarding the interest and meeting the expenditures in case the tenant or owner does not pay deliberately or otherwise. The builder is not liable to show the books of accounts until there is some court order.
